Today, I began a new venture.  Three hundred sixty five photos in one year.  It will take discipline and a bit of creativity as I look at the world that I live in and capture a portion of it with a camera.  I will also try to write something about each picture and why I took it.

Today, this wonderful couple adopted us as their grand children.  They are the grandparents of our beloved language teacher Vera.  We spent the afternoon around the table eating for about 4 hours.  Our first stop was at their grand son's house where we had appetizers of pershut, bread, smoked ham, cheese, salami, pastries with cheese and pastries with chocolate.  The lunch began with soup; then stuffed cabbage, baked sour craut, and Russian Salad; next came the main meal of turkey, pork, potatoes, peppers and more bread.  Following lunch came a huge plate of desserts and Turkish coffee.  Po lako, po lako  was the theme for the day -- eat slowly, laugh, enjoy life and then eat some more!

Dedt (Serbian for Grandpa) kept us laughing with all the ways Rakki (sort of like vodka) kept him healthy.  I wish that I could have captured his smile.  When he smiled, his whole face smiled and his eyes were so gentle.  Maybe, next time . . .

Enjoy the wanderings with me as I explore the world with pictures!
