If you consider it a sport to gather your food by drilling through 38 inches of ice and sitting there all day hoping that the food will swim by, you might live in Wisconsin.
Ice fishing is VERY popular here in Wisconsin. We live about .5 miles from the St. Croix River, which creates a boundary between WI and MN, and every year hundreds of folks drive, snow mobile, walk out onto the river to Ice Fish. Here are some shots that I took last weekend.
The last two pictures are just a bonus! As I was leaving the nearby lake, there was a hot baloon sinking into the horizon and then trumpeter swans flew over. What an amazing day!
